Vermont
After the months of heat and stifling humidity of summer, I always look forward to autumn in New England. I take great pleasure in the burst of deep reds, vibrant yellows, and striking oranges of a Vermont fall scene. In this painting, appropriately titled Vermont, I played up the bright tree that was the first to turn in the background. I felt it would draw a viewer’s eye to the maple sugar house comfortably nestled deep in the woods.
Equally enjoyable, I spent countless hours on the smallest detail of this traditional stonewall that stretches across the foreground. Locals and visitors to this part of the country take pleasure in the various stonewalls that hint to a life in the past.
